Job Title: Director of Ministries to Youth, Children, and their Families

Major Function:

Responsible for the development and coordination of an integral system nurtures children and their families in the Christian faith as they grow from cradle to college.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops adult, youth and children’s programs in partnership with the Senior Pastor.

  • Creates and maintains Sunday School programming including comprehensive curricula and standards for each grade level working relationally with superintendent and teachers to build and maintain the Sunday School.

  • Creates and maintains curriculum for Junior Church and ensures coverage for each service.

  • Develops family ministries including but not limited to Vacation Bible School, Christmas programs, and other family activities.

  • Builds relationships with parents and children and provides support and care in conjunction with the Pastor and other church programs and systems.

  • Recruits, trains, & maintains volunteer teams.

  • Attends worship services.

  • Other duties as needed and as assigned.
     

Experience/Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children and youth.

  • Experience developing curricula.

  • Willing to seek Continuing Education in children's ministries

  • Cleared through a National Criminal & Sex Offender background check.

  • See the position as a ministry more than a career; passionate about sharing Christ with children of all ages.

  • College degree preferred.

  • Able to multi-task and maintain organization.

  • A commitment to do extra work and give extra time as needed to achieve specific goals in pursuit of the mission of St. Peter’s Youth and Children.

  • Accountable.

  • Loyalty to the church leadership and their vision for the Church.

  • An ability and willingness to respect the confidential nature of the work of the Church.

 

Reports to the Senior Pastor.

This is a full time position with salary and benefits.
